Biography
I have been involved in powerlifting since 2016.  I got into powerlifting when I moved to Canada and started working out at a Goodlife. People kept telling me I was strong and should consider competing. I thought they were exaggerating. I took a course on the sport and signed up for my first meet and never looked back.

I am currently a 2x IPF Open world champion. I currently hold the world record total in the 84+ category and I am a 4x Canadian national champion. I recently competed at my 20th competition, Sheffield 2024, and finished 5th.

I train mostly at home in my basement alone. I have recently started incorporating some team training at Ultimate Fitness. My coach is fellow SBD Canada athlete Bryce Krawczyk. I live in Ottawa, Ontario. I am originally from a small town in Ohio.

Outside of powerlifting, I have 2 beautiful dogs that I love spending time and getting outside with. My big, sucky boys are my life. (I love all the doggos). Huge shoutout to a rock in my powerlifting career: Jake. He’s been to 19 of my 20 competitions and has traveled the world with me for the sport.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
My biggest accomplishment in powerlifting is improving the relationship I have with myself and my body. It is more than any accolade could be worth.

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Set goals but not limits. Work hard and focus on the present. You are stronger than you think you are and you are capable of more than you can fathom. Trust the process and settle in for the long haul. Things take time, but the time will pass anyways.

What is your favourite lift or event?
The squat is my favourite lift. It is a true test of you versus the weight. It is technical and requires precision and confidence. There is no room for self doubt when loading hundreds of pounds on your back.

What is your favourite product and why?
13mm Belt
The 13mm belt was my first piece of SBD equipment and is absolutely vital to my success. It is a solid, well built belt that provides support throughout my lifts. It is convenient and reliable and will last a lifetime!

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Powerlifting Knee Sleeves
Flexible Large Wrist Wraps
T-shirt
The powerlifting knee sleeves have been a game changer. The support and fit they offer is next to none. They keep my knees warm and compressed when squatting heavy.

The wrist wraps have grown to be my favourite. I use the large flexible wraps for extra support when benching and squatting.

The SBD t-shirts are exceptionally high quality. The material they are made of is so nice and these shirts have become part of my every day wardrobe.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Classic
The original red and black is a sharp colourway. The colours look great together and they are easily recognizable as SBD products.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
SBD is the top provider of powerlifting equipment and which is abundantly apparent when using their products. Everything is top quality and will last for years. Removing the uncertainty of quality of equipment is one way I control the controllable in training and competition.

Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
I am honoured to be an SBD Canada athlete, not only because of the quality equipment I have graciously received, but because SBD Canada goes above and beyond for the sport. Their involvement and sponsorship of meets at all levels makes me proud to represent them.
