Biography
In 2017, after several years of competitive CrossFit, I was looking for a change and wanted to focus on becoming the strongest version of myself.  I competed in my first meet in December of that year where I was pregnant and didn’t know it!  I continued to train and returned to the platform in 2019.  Since then, I have become two time national champion and have been able to represent Canada internationally at North American Powerlifting Championship as well as twice at the Open World Championships.

I live in Ontario, and in between practising as a food animal veterinarian, being a Ravens football fan, and baking, I train at home in my garage under the coaching of Garrett Bentley. While I am honored to represent Canada at the highest level, my greatest accomplishment is being a positive role model to my daughter by showing her the value of hard work and discipline.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
My favorite lifting memory is my first World Championships in South Africa. Being surrounded by the athletes I look up to and sharing the platform with them was an absolute honour I won’t soon forget.

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Push yourself hard and be sure to rest. I wish I learned the value of rest a lot earlier than I did.

What is your favourite lift or event?
My favorite lift is whatever one I’m doing at the moment…(but really it’s the squat).

What is your favourite product and why?
10mm Belt
The 10mm belt gives the perfect amount of support without interfering with movement.

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Powerlifting Knee Sleeves
Flexible Medium Wrist Wraps
T-shirt
My old lady joints love the support of the sleeves and the wraps. The t-shirts are just bold and flattering; a true winner.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Classic
There’s just something classy and powerful with the black and red.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
SBD provides the highest quality in equipment. Durable craftsmanship is important for longevity and safety in strength training and SBD provides just that.
Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
As an athlete with the highest goals in mind, SBD’s products will help me achieve those goals. SBD stands by the athletes as much as their products which makes me proud to work with them.
