Biography
I've been lifting weights for roughly half of my life now, so 15 years of going to the gym 3-4 times a week. I began with more hypertrophy styled workout routines and as the years went on my strength progressed to the point where I was nearing the Quebec provincial record. The switch to powerlifting happened about 3 years ago, starting as a solo athlete for a while and then joining the Podium Powerlifting Team with Jimmy Willard as my coach.

Within these past 3 years we have obtained 5 provincial records and I have been the national champion for the 74kg weight class 2 years in a row.

My workout schedule and the gyms I go to rotates quite often since I have finished university. I currently work as a quality assurance specialist for hydroelectric dams and this career has me living away from home for a good part of the month. The gym for when I am home is the 3 Tonnes Gym in Gatineau, QC and for when I am away I go to Infinite Gym in Hawkesbury, ON. Starting the end of May/June I'll be switching worksites to Arnprior, ON where I'll be able to train at Total Strength & Conditioning with fellow members of the team which will be amazing.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
Surprisingly enough my favorite lifting memory isn't being the national champion for my weight class or anything more 'impressive' than that. My favorite memory is of obtaining my first provincial record, I feel like that moment kind of gave me a big push into taking powerlifting more seriously than before and helped bring me where I'm at today.

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Take some time every now and then to just work on your form and technique without really pushing the weights too hard. Doing so can not only increase performance but also help identify weak spots to work on and prevent injuries.

What is your favourite lift or event?
Squat... by a lot

What is your favourite product and why?
13mm Belt
No powerlifting belt comes in comparison to the SBD belts. Some will say that it's on the more expensive side, which it is compared to other belts out there but these belts last a long time and in my eyes are a great investment for anyone looking to compete in any strength sport.

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Flexible Large Wrist Wraps
Socks
Oversized T-shirt
The flexible large wrist wraps are miles more comfortable than the other wrist wraps I have tried and give the same amount of support or more without cutting off blood flow to my hands which was a problem before if I kept them on too tight for too long. The socks, or more precisely deadlift socks are a must have for me to deadlift and keep my skin off the bar, makes for one less distraction when going heavy. The oversized T-Shirt is just an overall comfortable and surprisingly breathable shirt to workout in.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Nova
In a world where everything is losing its colours for some subtle hues of blues/greys/blacks, the Hot Pink from the Nova colourway really changes everything up and pops out.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
I feel like other brands out there may have one or two pieces of gear that are very well made but then the rest of what they make is kind of lacking or their customer support does not exist. I have heard 0 serious complaints about the gear made by SBD and from what I've seen and experienced, it's all high quality and any issues (like having picked the wrong size) can be managed easily.

Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
From local to international meets, SBD Canada has consistently been there for Canadian powerlifters. There is no other company that has given as much as SBD Canada has for powerlifting and I am thrilled to now be part of their team.
