Biography
I’m from Riverview, New Brunswick. I work as a the shop foreman for a fire protection company in Moncton.

I began powerlifting in late 2020. So I’ve been involved with the sport just over 3 years. I played football for over 20 years and was always in the gym. When I retired from football, I needed something else to train for. COVID was one of the main reasons I began powerlifting because all the commercial gyms were closed. My friend had invited me to try it at his personal gym and the rest is history.

My biggest accomplishment so far have been winning Masters 1 83 kg at the North American Championships in Caymen islands and winning Masters 1 83 KG at the 2023 nationals in BC.

I train out of my gym “The Strength Factory” in Moncton, NB. I do not have a coach yet, might be something to look into later on but for now the numbers keep going up.  I coach our local special Olympics powerlifting team. Best atmosphere to be around!!! Great people, great team.

My biggest support has always been my family and friends, but my number one fan has always been my wife Monique. She sees everyday the work I put into this amazing journey. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for her.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
My favourite memory was breaking the world squat record for masters 1 83 kg at the NAPFs in Caymen Islands

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Trust the process! When I got into powerlifting I thought it was going to be easy. I was wrong. My first meet ever, I bombed out. All red lights on every squat. And just like that , it was over! Take your time, trust the program and ask advice from as many people as you can!

What is your favourite lift or event?
Favourite lift will always be deadlifts, squats are slowly moving up the ladder while bench press will always be cleaning the basement

What is your favourite product and why?
10mm Belt
The new 10 mm belt will always be my go to for gear. I use it everyday I lift and it never fails to have my back.

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Powerlifting Knee Sleeves
Flexible Medium Wrist Wraps
Elbow Sleeves
The knee sleeves are must to maintain the health of your knees as a lifter in any sport. The new wrist wraps are amazing, super flexible which makes it easier to put them on tight. The elbow sleeves are relatively new for me, but I love them. I had aches and pains in my elbows from bench press and all the accessories that are needed to get stronger. The sleeves keep your elbows warm and loose one set to the next.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Momentum
I love the new momentum line. Love the colours and the new tweaks they made with the wrist wraps and the new knee sleeves.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
SBD always has the best gear. It always has the best support without limiting mobility. They are always doing research on how to better their lines. The new knee sleeves and the new 10 mm are on fire!

Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
As an athlete, my dream has always been to be sponsored in whatever sport I was playing. When I began powerlifting, I saw SBD gear and signs everywhere. I found out very quickly that it was the most popular powerlifting company in the game. When I was asked if I wanted to become a sponsored athlete for SBD, it was an easy decision as I already used all of their gear. They will always be #1! Their gear goes above and beyond in terms of comfort and support. I always strive to be the best and it makes its a lot easier when you are supported by the best.
