Biography
I’ve been involved in strongman since 2015. I got started by bouncing at a bar in Winnipeg with Manitoba’s only pro at the time. He suggested I give strongman a try, and I competed and won my first competition 3 weeks later. My biggest accomplishments to date are competing twice at Canada’s Strongest Man, and competing at the Magnus Ver Magnusson Classic in Iceland.

I am from Winnipeg, MB and train at Iron Age Strength in Winnipeg where I am the owner and strongman coach. I am also a professional wrestler, and have travelled to China, Germany, the Netherlands, and all over Canada and the US.  My partner Jian is invaluable to my strongman career, I couldn’t do what I do without her.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
Being the first Manitoban to win an event at CSM (the backlift in 2022)

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Get a coach! If you want to be competitive in strongman there’s so much more to it than just having good gym lifts. A coach will help with not only making you stronger in the gym, but more skilled on the competitive field.

What is your favourite lift or event?
I don’t particularly like them, but I do well in front carry events. I like doing the deadlift though.

What is your favourite product and why?
13mm Belt
The SBD belt is top notch and it is the first piece of equipment I’d tell someone to get in their bag if they want to compete or even just lift heavy.

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Flexible Medium Wrist Wraps
Elbow Sleeves
Lifting Straps
These are just the most pieces basic equipment a strongman should have in his or her bag. You’re going to compete better with these, in my mind.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Phantom
I love black clothing.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
It’s made the best, and it continues to be the brand that is the most involved in strength sports.

Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
SBD Canada takes care of their athletes, and they have the best gear that’s being made. It’s easier to perform at your best when you know the equipment you’re using will be able to handle everything you can.
