Biography
I am powerlifter from Toronto, Ontario. I currently study in Kingston, Ontario, where I am pursuing a dual degree in Applied Mathematics & Mechanical Engineering (BASc) and a Bachelor of Music (BA). Outside of school and powerlifting, I enjoy reading, going on walks, and spending time with friends.
Powerlifting found me at a time in my life when I felt very lost and unsure of my purpose. I grew up doing gymnastics, but after stepping away from the sport, I struggled to find something that gave me the same sense of identity and direction. Signing up for my first powerlifting meet in 2024 ended up being one of the best decisions of my life. Shortly after, I began working with my coach, Jimmy Willard, who has played a huge role in my development as an athlete.
Since then, powerlifting has become a huge part of who I am. In 2025, I had the privilege of representing Canada at IPF Junior Worlds. At 2026 Nationals, which marked the beginning of my third year in the sport, I achieved my best total to date of 543 kg and broke the Canadian total and deadlift records in the 84 kg Junior category.
Powerlifting has taught me the importance of discipline and hard work, and has given me confidence and a purpose that extends far beyond the platform. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities this sport has given me, and I’m excited to continue growing as both an athlete and a person.
What is your favourite lifting memory?
My favourite lifting memory was at my first meet. This day was genuinely one of the best days of my life, but the highlight was when I pulled 200kg for the first time on the platform.
What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Don’t be afraid to dream big. I think so many powerlifters limit themselves by believing they’ll “never be Team Canada” or that they “don’t have the leverages” for a certain lift. Stop placing limits on your own potential, and start believing that you can overcome the challenges you will inevitably face throughout your career. Regardless of your level, powerlifting is a long journey. Embrace the boring work, learn to enjoy the process, and let time catch up.
What is your favourite lift or event?
Deadlift.
What is your favourite product and why?
13mm Belt
The 13mm Belt is my favourite product because of the stability and confidence it gives me under heavy loads. Having a belt that is supportive and consistent makes a huge difference - especially for heavy squats and deadlifts. It is one of those pieces of equipment that I know I can trust every time I touch a bar with it.
What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Stiff Large Wrist Wraps
Singlet
Oversize T-shirt
The Stiff Large Wrist Wraps are one of my favourite products because they give me the support I need when benching heavy. They feel stable without getting in the way, and as someone who benches very frequently, having that support makes a big difference.
The Singlet is also one of my favourite products. The material is durable and comfortable, and fits well. I also like how secure the fabric feels with chalk on it, especially when I’m benching or when I have a bar on my back for squats.
The Oversized T-shirt is great for wearing both in and outside of training. The material is soft and comfortable, and the fit makes it perfect as a pump cover in the gym. Outside of training, it works as a clean, simple T-shirt that I can use with many different outfits.
What colourway is your favourite and why?
Storm
Navy blue is my favourite colour. The colour combination of grey and navy go so well together (in my opinion).
Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
I have been using SBD gear for all my lifts throughout most of my powerlifting career. I continue to use SBD because I've found it to be consistent, reliable and long lasting. Overall, the gear is supportive without getting in the way of my lifts, which allows me to put all my focus on execution every time I touch a bar. As an athlete, I want equipment that I can trust in both training and competition, and SBD has consistently given me that.
Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
SBD Canada reflects my principles as an athlete because of the way they support powerlifting at every level, from local to international competitions. One of my core values as a powerlifter is helping to grow the sport and contributing positively to the community around it. SBD Canada's commitment to supporting athletes, competitions, and the powerlifting community aligns strongly with the kind of athlete I want to be and the impact I hope to have in the sport.
