Biography
I am originally from Nigeria and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, on my own at 17 to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, in a country where I knew absolutely no one. The experience of building a life from scratch taught me the resilience and adaptability that drive everything I do today. Canada has now become my home away from home!

I have been working out consistently in the gym since 2018, and by 2023, I was looking for a new challenge, which is when I found powerlifting. It has quickly become my outlet for the pressures of everyday life.

My biggest accomplishments to date are back-to-back National Championship titles in 2025 and 2026 in the Open 76kg class, along with Alberta Provincial Records in the squat and deadlift in 2026. In the summer of 2026, I will be representing Canada at the IPF World Championships in Druskininkai, Lithuania, which is beyond my wildest dreams!

I train out of Anytime Fitness in Edmonton, where I have also worked part-time as a Fitness Coach since 2020. I have been coached by Christine Castro-Chan since 2025. Outside of lifting, I am a medical student working towards becoming a physician, one of the biggest goals of my life.

My faith, my family, and my six younger siblings keep me grounded. Being a role model for my siblings is one of my biggest motivations, and I owe so much to my parents, who raised me to believe I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.

What is your favourite lifting memory?
Winning my first Nationals in 2025 is a memory I will always carry with me. I was so dialled in on executing every single attempt that I did not know I had won until the competition was over, which made the moment even more special.

What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
My biggest piece of advice is to not let past wins make you complacent, and not let the weight of expectations make you nervous. Take deep breaths, trust your preparation and execute.

What is your favourite lift or event?
Squat!

What is your favourite product and why?
Powerlifting Knee Sleeves
The quality of the knee sleeves is unmatched! They give me the support and protection I need to squat with complete confidence.

What 3 other items are your go to and why?
13mm Belt
Flexible Medium Wrist Wraps
Hoodie
The 13mm lever belt provides the back support and stability I need to push my limits under the heaviest loads. Similarly, the wrist wraps offer reliable protection during squats and bench and keep me secure without restricting my movement. Off the platform, the SBD hoodie is genuinely one of my favourite things I own; it is incredibly warm and comfortable, and honestly, I would live in it if I could.

What colourway is your favourite and why?
Reflect
Blue represents calm to me, and I perform best when I am calm. On the platform, when nerves want to take over, that colour is a reminder to take deep breaths, trust my preparation, and execute.

Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
What sets SBD apart is that you can feel the intention behind every product. The quality is unmatched, and for a competitive athlete, that matters more than people realize. Confidence in your gear is confidence in your performance, and SBD has never given me a reason to doubt either.

Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
SBD Canada's commitment to strength sports is unparalleled, and I have experienced their genuine support for athletes firsthand. As a Black woman and immigrant in a sport where people who look like me are underrepresented, being part of such an elite team carries significance beyond athletics. I want every woman who looks like me and has ever wondered whether this sport is for her to see my name on this roster and know that it is. Representing SBD Canada is an honour and a responsibility I take seriously.
