Biography
I’m a powerlifter from Fredericton and have been involved in the sport since 2024, becoming fully dedicated to it in January 2025. Before powerlifting, I played tackle football for seven years and competed on the varsity boys football team at my high school for two years. Football played a huge role in shaping my mindset and work ethic, and it was actually what first got me into the gym.
Although I still love football, I realized there was a bigger future for me in powerlifting, so this year I decided to fully commit to the sport and focus more of my energy on lifting. One of my biggest accomplishments so far has been achieving 100 GL points at Nationals, which was a huge milestone for me and showed how far my hard work has taken me.
I train mostly at home and at GoodLife Fitness. I’m coached by Adam Jansson, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without his guidance and support.
Family has also played a huge role in my journey. My brother, Nico Seamans, was one of the people who first got me interested in the sport, and both he and my parents have supported me every step of the way. Their encouragement has motivated me to keep improving and striving for bigger goals.
Outside of powerlifting, I’m currently finishing high school and will be starting engineering at University of New Brunswick in Fall 2026.
What is your favourite lifting memory?
My favourite lifting memory so far was hitting 100 GL points at Nationals. It was a huge moment for me because it showed how much progress I’ve made since fully committing to the sport. Having my coach, family, and supporters there made it even more meaningful.
What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
Don’t compare your progress to anyone else’s. Everyone starts somewhere, and the strongest athletes became strong because they stayed patient and consistent over time. Focus on improving yourself every day, and don’t be afraid to put in the work even when nobody notices it yet.
What is your favourite lift or event?
My favorite lift is bench press. It’s the lift I enjoy training the most, and I love the challenge of constantly trying to get stronger.
What is your favourite product and why?
10mm Belt
I love how easy it is to adjust because you don’t have to change anything on the belt to get the sizing right. It’s also extremely durable, I’ve had mine for almost two years and it’s still in great condition even after constant training. For me, the support, quality, and convenience make it the best belt out there.
What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Singlet
T-shirt
Hoodie
If I could choose every item I honestly would. Every piece of gear is such high quality and built for performance. Whether it’s sleeves, belts, sweaters, or accessories, everything feels durable, comfortable, and made to last through hard training. That’s a big reason why these are all go-to items for me, I know I can rely on them every time I train or compete.
What colourway is your favourite and why?
Reflect
The Reflect colourway is just stunning. I love the Resolve colourway too, but nothing beats the way the blue on the Reflect shirts and singlet stands out.
Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?
I believe SBD is the gear every athlete should use because the quality and performance are unmatched. Their equipment is durable, comfortable, and built to handle hard training and competition. Every product feels reliable, which gives you confidence every time you step into the gym or onto the platform. On top of that, SBD continues to create gear and apparel that not only performs well but also looks great, which is a huge reason why so many strength athletes trust the brand.
Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
I believe in working with SBD Canada as a sponsored athlete because the brand represents everything I value as an athlete: hard work, quality, consistency, and pushing limits. SBD has been a huge part of my journey already, and their equipment is what I trust every time I train and compete. I also respect how much SBD Canada supports strength athletes and helps grow the sport.
As an athlete, I want to represent a brand that I genuinely believe in, and SBD Canada is a company I already stand behind without hesitation. I’m passionate about powerlifting, motivated to keep improving, and I want to inspire other younger athletes to chase goals that people might think are impossible. I believe being part of SBD Canada would allow me to represent both the sport and the brand in a positive way while continuing to grow as an athlete and person.
