Biography
I have been involved in strength sports for about 10 years. It all started when some friends at my gym got into strength training, I joined in and quickly realized it helped me stay focused at school and gave me the chance to compete again, which I had really missed.
Over the years, I have also become passionate about coaching. I’ve been coaching for 8 years and started Clean Strength Fitness 4 years ago to help others build strength, confidence, and consistency in their training.
My proudest accomplishments as an athlete go beyond titles. Coming back from serious injuries and sticking with it through the hard times is what I’m most proud of. That said, becoming a national champion is definitely a career highlight.
I currently train in Calgary and work with my coach, Tim Monigatti, who’s been instrumental in my progress.
Originally from India and raised in the Middle East, I now balance my training and coaching with a full-time career as an airline pilot. When I’m not lifting or flying, I love spending time with my girlfriend and family as they are a huge part of my support system.
What is your favourite lifting memory?
Probably when an athlete I coach became a national champion for the first time. I was incredibly proud and excited in that moment, not just because of their achievement, but because it showed me that something I have poured so much into is not just helping me grow, but also truly impacting others. Seeing someone I have coached reach that level was a powerful reminder of why I love what I do.
What is one piece of advice you have for up and coming athletes getting into strength training or strength sport?
It’s not about medals and winning meets. Yes, it’s a sport and competition matters, but the real key is finding your why and learning to love the process. Ask yourself what truly drives you, because that deeper reason will help you stay consistent when things get hard. Fall in love with the journey, not just the results. When you start seeing the parallels between powerlifting and life, resilience, discipline, patience, that’s when the sport becomes something much bigger than just numbers on the platform.
What is your favourite lift or event?
Deadlift.
What is your favourite product and why?
10mm Belt
I find bracing in the 10 mm much easier as it doesn't feel too tight on the body. It might be because I'm a smaller human but it just feels that much more useable for me.
What 3 other items are your go to and why?
Elbow Sleeves
Beanie
Shorts
Elbow sleeves keep my elbows and shoulders happy. The shorts and beanie are just very comfortable and nice to wear.
What colourway is your favourite and why?
Eclipse
It looks very slick.
Why do you believe SBD is the gear all athletes should use?

It’s durable and built to last through years of hard training and competition, which is exactly what serious athletes need. Each piece is handmade, which speaks to the craftsmanship and consistency behind the brand. On top of that, the fit and comfort are unmatched, it feels supportive without being restrictive. And let’s be honest, it looks great too. Whether you’re on the platform or in the gym, SBD gives you the confidence to perform at your best.
Why do you believe in working with SBD Canada as a Sponsored Athlete?
I believe in working with SBD Canada because they genuinely support my dream, not just with top-quality, safe gear, but with real, consistent support when it matters most. They go beyond just providing equipment; they help build the sport by creating platforms and meets that reflect the highest level of professionalism in powerlifting.
